The Sessions at Finlay Park is a music festival at Finlay Park planned for mid-2026.
With the grand reopening of Finlay Park in late 2025, many had hoped the former home of many concerts and music festivals would once again be a spot for great live music in South Carolina’s Capital City.
While the park will be hosting a free concert series from February to October 2026 featuring local acts, they’ve also announced a larger music festival at Finlay Park just at the start of summer, known as the Sessions at Finlay Park.
There’s scant details so far about the Sessions at Finlay Park concert, but read on to learn what we know so far and what to expect during the Sessions at Finlay Park music festival.
What is the Sessions at Finlay Park Music Festival?
Well, to be honest, we’re not entirely sure yet!
The newly renovated Finlay Park only opened at the tail end of 2025. Described as a “crown jewel,” the updated park is gorgeous. You can read my guide to Finlay Park to plan a visit if you haven’t been yet, by the way!
One of the highlights is the gorgeous main stage, in front of the large lawn area known as the Oval.
Years ago, Finlay Park was home to frequent music festivals, including the annual Three Rivers Music Festival. Since its reopening, it began a series of free concerts featuring local artists known as Finlay Fridays that will run from late February to late October 2026 (click that link to learn more about that and see the lineup announced so far).
There’s very little information about the Sessions at Finlay Park concert. In fact, I am only aware of it because I found a mention of it while reading up about Finlay Fridays.
There’s not even a mention of this music festival at Finlay Park on the park’s calendar of events yet!
That mention only identifies the date and says it will be a three day long music festival at Finlay Park with local, regional, and national acts. It notes that the festival will feature a variety of genres and should appeal to just about any music fan and that the event will also be family friendly.
I suspect as the date draws closer, we will get more details, and I’ll do my best to keep this updated as those details come in, but I’ve included what we know so far in the sections below.
When is this Music Festival at Finlay Park?
The mention I found says the Sessions at Finlay Park will be held from May 29-May 31.
That’s the weekend following Memorial Day, so at the unofficial kick off for summer with this Finlay Park music festival set to run from Friday to Sunday.
Given those dates, it certainly feels like an updated version of the Three Rivers Music Festival, last held in April 2006. Crazy to think that was 20 years ago!
Who Will Play at the Sessions at Finlay Park Festival?
Well, the truth is, we don’t know yet!
Beyond the note that it will feature local, regional, and national artists from a broad selection of genres, we don’t have any official names yet.
Given it sure looks like an updated Three Rivers Festival, I’d suspect it will, in fact, feature a broad range of music. The last Three Rivers Festival featured bluegrass, jazz, country, hip-hop, blues, and rock.
I’d expect something similar with a diverse lineup that will hopefully have something to appeal to just about everyone.
We’ll have to stay tuned to see for sure though!
Sessions at Finlay Park Ticket Information
There is no official word on how to get tickets for the Sessions at Finlay Park Music Festival or Sessions at Finlay Park Music Festival ticket prices yet.
Given it’s a three day event, I lean towards it being an event that you will have to buy a ticket for, but maybe it will end up being free.
